"I never get any rest."

Image
Whenever I'm looking for something easy to put on, this shirt seems to fit the bill, so much so that it's  always in the wash for being worn all the time. H&M jacket, BCBG hoodie, Marc by Marc Jacobs shirt, LEI jeans from Walmart, Doc Martens boots The shirt says "Ce soir". What do you think of the outfit, little one? "Well, it's not as cute as me." Have a great weekend, everyone:) March Break started for us over here. Do you guys have any Spring Break plans?

What's up, doc?

My sis-in-law had these in her closet, but never wore them so guess who got these? Bwahaha! Doc Martens Classic Collection boots I had the knock-offs from Payless in high school coz I couldn't afford the real ones (and was too lazy to get a job), so these bring back a lot of memories:) Any Doc Martens fans out there?

"I'm too old for a cake!"

We celebrated another birthday...this time, it's the hubby's:) We went to his favourite restaurant....good times!:P Argh! What I ate: rare seared tuna salad What he ate: bloody steak! Dear hubby, I had to show your face coz it's your birthday after all:P What I wore (nothing too fancy): Danier jacket, H&M dress, F21 cardi, no-name tights, Aldo boots Happy Tuesday, everyone:)

Misty watercolor memories (and they are misty for a reason!)

As a blogger, I thought it's only my duty to entertain you, and show you something to make you laugh, cry...or just cringe. On that note, today, I thought I'd post the evolution of my style (or lack thereof if you ask some people.:P). These were the stuff that I thought were da bomb . You might say, "Really? You didn't have a mirror?" As Julia Child once said, however, "No matter what happens in the kitchen, never apologize." And so, I say, "No matter what you wear, never regret anything." The high school years (a.k.a. the scary years)... My Grade 9 school pic. I wore that bandanna on my head the whole year. Someone called me "Aunt Jemima"  (the pancake mix icon). Baggy shirt and pants, and huaraches...no need to explain... I wore these pants so much the hook and zipper broke. Of course, I still wore them (by pinning it) and they fell down to my ankle without knowing it when I was going home from school one day. No joke...

Don't get your hopes up!

We actually had a day where the sun was out and it was warm enough to go out without a jacket for five minutes. Yes, I know it's only March; winter is not over; there's more snow on the way... but one can hope, right? (Just between you and I...tt actually snowed heavily the day after these pics were taken....sigh...) F21 sweater, Walmart floral leggings, no-name wellies from Canadian Tire This jumper was a recent purchase. I love how this looks like the GAP and Isabel Marant sweaters I crave for, but for a tiny fraction of the price:P Too bad this was the only one left:( "Where are the butterflies?" HAPPY FRIDAY!

Hanging out with the boys

Image
I spend most of my waking hours with my daughter, so I thought I'd have a day just with the boys...yes...that included the hubby. My hubby's family was kind enough to take the little one for a few hours:) H&M jacket and pants, O'Neill hoodie, top from Aritzia, DV by Dolce Vita boots I'm kinda weird with shoes, coz I love when they look so worn in. waiting for the movie to start Happy Wednesday, everyone!:)

Recipe: Beef Stew

Image
I thought I'd post my first recipe, after seeing Mulberry blog about this Tom Aiken recipe . I figured, if a luxury fashion brand company can blog about food, so can I! :P (BTW, I will definitely try this Aiken slow roast lamb and post the results here.) I love making stews and braises, especially during the winter. There's something about their smell that just screams "comfort". Plus, they're soooo easy to make. I've only been cooking and baking for about two years, and stews are one of the primary dishes that anyone can do.  Here's my beef stew recipe, which is pretty much influenced by a combination of recipes I've read from Jean Anderson's Falling Off The Bone and Molly Steven's All About Braising (I highly recommend these two books...worth every penny) that I've made into my own. Ingredients: 5 quart cast-iron pot or a Dutch oven (I use a 7 quart, as that's all we have, but the 5 qt is the best all-around size.) 4 strips ...
