A reboot done right

Image
In the spirit of Halloween, I thought I would post about the latest show I love love love...Netflix's Chilling Adventures of Sabrina . Guys....I binge-watched the Season 1 in such a short time that I literally gave up sleep. Bwahahaha! So worth it though. I used to watched the show with Melissa Joan Hart, and did like it so I was kinda leery when I first heard of the reboot. Netflix, however, did such a fantastic job in turning it into a much darker and scarier show. The cast is perfect, from Kiernan Shipka and Ross Lynch as Sabrina and Harvey, to the supporting cast such as  Gavin Leatherwood (Harvey's warlock competiton for Sabrina), Tati Gabrielle as Prudence (the frenemy) and Jaz Sinclair and Lachlan Watson as Sabrina's friends. Highly highly recommend this show! 5/5 all images from imdb.com Lucy Davis as Hilda Spellman (one of Sabrina's aunts) Michelle Gomez as Mary Wardwell (another witch) Gavin Leatherwood Have you guys seen it?

New in...it's all about the text

I mentioned here that I've been wanting an army jacket-style outerwear. One day, I saw a girl wearing a green parka with some random thing written on the back. Bingo! I wanted a combo of both! It was hard to find the exact thing I wanted until I searched on Amazon Japan (which has become an obsession now) and found this. Let's all welcome the new addition to my closet:D Any new addition to your closet?

For all intents and purposes

I love to knit and sew not only because it gives me the chance to be creative and but it also gives me ability to enhance my wardrobe with one-of-a-kind stuff. Not necessarily the best items, but something hand-made is really not as common now as it was before. top I sewed using Closet Case Ebony pattern, worn with jeans from Urban Outfitters and Timberland booties Speaking of sewing, I just finished making my daughter's Halloween costume! YASSSS! Preview:D

The Boyfriend Cardi

Image
Now that it's really getting cold over here, this latest item I've knitted is just right. I've been wanting to have a cardi I can just throw on over anything when I go out, and this just fits the bill:) Pattern I used is Jessica's Boyfriend Sweater by Celia McAdam Cahill from TKGA's Cast On Magazine I did the pattern as is except for minor modifications like only doing one button/buttonhole. My fave...pockets! In progress: blocking pieces before seaming doing the pockets seaming everything together

Obsession #44

Image
I was totally inspired by this goop Style blog post , and so, am now wanting these two items so badly. 1) G.Label army jacket image from shop.goop.com 2) Sorel Joan of Arctic boots image from sorel.com The Chelsea version is pretty awesome too! What have you been wanting lately?

New in...the pullover dress

Image
We usually buy just knick knacks from the Japanese store MUJI but I have discovered that their clothes are pretty amazeballz too. I don't really buy a lot of garments anymore since I sew but Muji's sizing is pretty good for someone who's kinda vertically-challenged...ahem.... Latest purchase is this new dress. I've already worn this twice, and I just got it! There's just something I really love about this style of dress. Muji Organic Cotton Flannel Pullover Dress Out and about... worn with Topshop coat Speaking of Muji, another item I highly recommend from this store is its aroma diffuser. It has a timer, light settings, and this size works in a big room.

Inspiration: Yohji Yamamoto

“I think perfection is ugly. Somewhere in the things humans make, I want to see scars, failure, disorder, distortion.”  ―  Yohji Yamamoto I've been a fan of Yohji Yamamoto for awhile and am quite surprised to realize I haven't featured him before. His work is just so beautiful...very minimalistic at most times but the way he does his draping is just magical. I really love his Ready To Wear Spring 2019 collection and basically want everything. Here are my faves. All images from Vogue.com He is just the coolest.
