As a huge fan of the The Walking Dead, I know that ponchos are serious business, y'all! Yesterday was the first day of the Toronto Knitter's Frolic , held at the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre. To say that I was excited was a bit of an understatement. It was my first time going, and oh my! What a great event, y'all! It was awesome to see and feel the yarn from companies, big and small. All the vendors were also a pleasure to deal with. I'll definitely try to do some workshops next year as well, as they sounded pretty rad. These were considered "trendy" last year even though they have been around for ages. After the Celine SS13 collection came out, it seemed like everyone was wearing them. I resisted, I tellz yah....but those darn Olsen twins! I always get jealous when I see their photos wearing this type of sandals, so these got purchased from Little Burgundy :P (Let me tell you....these are sooooo comfy. These are my first Birkis, and definitely will not be the last.) Birkenstock Arizona sandals And yes...I'll be wearing them with socks. Bite me. Try to buy Birkis in person so you can get the right fit. If you have to order online, I suggest buying one size down (for the Arizona anyway). Just thought I'd share with you two new fashion/beauty books I really love: The Craft: DIY Hair and Beauty by Lou Teasdale and Living In Style by Rachel Zoe Different target audience, but I enjoyed both:)  Rachel Zoe's book is filled not only with fashion advice, but also tips on hair &makeup,  house decorating and stuff like how to host a party and travelling. I'm a sucker for this type of books, and Rachel dispenses great advice in my opinion. The book also has gorgeous photos for inspiration. I want this whole setup, guys! Lou Teasdale is the hair and makeup person for One Direction, so I think The Craft is geared for teen-agers (I'm definitely not part of the target audience...ahem....), although there is a short section on tattoos, so I don't know.....I love this book just because it's filled with fun and non-traditional beauty tips. I've never been to a music festival, but after seeing all the Coachella pics, I was inspired to this hair. Everyone here has been busting out the lighter jackets. It is snowing today, however...sigh...but I guess after experiencing -40 °C, anything above -10 is warm for us. One of the things I really like to knit are shawls. They're so versatile, aside from being warm and cozy:) Aside from using it as a scarf, a shawl is perfect for when you're in the movies and it gets cold, watching TV at home, reading a book with a warm cup of cocoa, at work and sitting under a vent.... shawl I knitted, H&M shirt, no-name leggings, Converse sneakers What is your fave accessory lately?
