We attended a wedding reception this weekend. I really do love weddings.:) Zara dress, Aldo heels On the sewing front, here's the little one wearing the dress I made for her. Not perfect, and I probably did more ripping than sewing with this project, but she loves it, and that's all that matters, right? :D (I do make stuff for my boys as well, but frankly, she's more demanding!:P) Sewing pattern is this one , in case you're interested:) How was your weekend, guys?

I mentioned in a post  that I just bought a sewing machine, and since then, I've tried to squeeze in small projects here and there as much as I can. Hemming pants and curtains, making little bags and a pencil case....Well, guys, I thought it was time to sew a garment I can actually wear. I decided to use the Delphine skirt pattern from the book Love at First Stitch by Tilly and the Buttons . I love my Janome, y'all!  The book comes with full-sized patterns printed on both sides of a large paper. I traced my size onto tissue papers to preserve the original. Here it was after seaming the sides and now trying to attach the waist band. I used a cheap craft cotton fabric from Michael's because this was technically the toile (like a "first draft"). Did so many things for the first time for this skirt, such as using an interfacing.  Although I'm not a perfectionist, I really wanted the seams to be aligned, which was not as easy for me to ac

We went to a party this weekend. Hence, the more dressed-up outfit, which you may know if you've been reading my blog for awhile, is not my norm. (Going to parties is also not my norm...just saying...) I do like wearing these heels, so any excuse.... top from my mom, skirt I knitted, Aldo heels How was your weekend?

On Saturday (Sept 5), the whole family (minus the little one) went to Fan Expo , which some of you may know is a yearly tradition for us. We stayed almost till closing this time, and we were all really pooped by the end of the day, but it was so worth it. The cosplay, as always, was amazeballz. For the Harry Potter fans, the Weasley twins, Draco Malfoy and Ron Weasley were all there (the actors, I mean:D)!  Pics below:D So many peeps! Wanted to see Neve Campbell and Skeet Ulrich up close, but by the time we got there, there were gone...sigh.... And OMG! I was so excited to find out that this movie based on one of my all-time favourite books is coming out in December! So excited to have a pic with this guy.
