Some Thursday Inspiration

Image
First of all, I would like to thank all of you for the wonderful responses to my last blog post. Most of the people who commented are those I've been reading for a long time as well, and it was great to read about how your blogs have evolved as well throughout the years. You all inspired me:) On that note, here are some images that have been also been inspiring me. Our weather has been really wonky lately...warm one day, then cold and rainy the next. Hence, the images I like kinda reflect this. image from nicolerichiefashion.blogspot.com image from olsensanonymous.blogspot.com image from olsensanonymous.blogspot.com image from olsensanonymous.blogspot.com image from glamour.com image from fenwick.co.uk

At a loss

Since I've purged and did the KonMari method of tidying up, I must admit that outfit posts have been really a bit of a struggle. Even though I sew/knit and buy a few items here and there, most of what I wear are just repeats now more than ever (like the outfit below). I've really narrowed down my outfits into faves/basics that they are all in heavy rotation. Technically, my intent was for this blog to be fashion-oriented, but really, I will confess here now: this page lately is turning out more like a  journal, and also a motivation to not go out of the house in tattered jeans and shirts (coz frankly, if I don't do any blogging at all, that's all I'd probably wanna wear most days.) But hey, sewing/knitting is fashion-ish, right? shirt from Urban Outfitters, Joe's Jeans leggings, Vans sneakers For those of you who've been blogging for awhile, has your blogging style evolved throughout the years? Where do you find your inspiration when it com

Currently Loving #36

Things I've been loving lately:) 1) Shiseido Senka Perfect Watery Oil makeup remover My skin just seems to really love this line. 2) Tony Moly eyeshadows My older sis gave these to me for Christmas, and have been using them a lot lately. I love the texture of both these shadows, and they're nicely pigmented as well. 3) Vans Chukka Low These are actually in the boys' section I found on sale at the Vans Outlet. My middle son has these for skateboarding, and I really liked them, so I thought I'd get a pair for myself. Have worn these a few times already, and they're great. 4) Element Sierra jacket This is also listed under the boys department, but hey, one good thing about being "vertically challenged" is that the Large kids' sizing sometimes would fit me:D This is just a great spring jacket....waterproof and light. (Bought this from exoshop . If you're in Canada and looking for an online store to buy skateboarding stuff from, I hig

The Elisalex Dress

The latest dress I've made is this dress pattern by By Hand London ...a new fave. I know it seems like I say an outfit I just made is always a fave, but I do find that I improve a little bit more with each project so it becomes one I really love. But this dress, you guys....seriously a LOVE. By Hand London Elisalex Dress  I honestly thought after the first fitting that this would be too small and would not fit, but I opted to still finish it, and what do you know? It fit perfectly after everything was done! worn with an old H&M heels In progress: Hope you all had a wonderful Easter weekend!

Nice to see you again.

The great thing about having multicoloured hair is that no matter what outfit I wear, there is bound to be a strand that will match it. Inspiration: Lacey Baker

Lacey Baker is IMO one of the greatest skaters out there and someone who really pushes the boundaries in skateboarding. " The skate industry is a bunch of dudes making decisions and judgements. If I don't have long hair, wear tight pants and a push up bra then they decide I look too much like a boy. They don't care about how well I skate or my skill level. It's about how I look. It's about how we all look. It's catering to all these dudes in the skate industry. "Who's the prettiest? We choose you..." .... Maybe if I did conform to what they wanted to see they'd give me what I want. I'm not going to do that...."
