Sinister...but not really.

Image
Wearing this jacket with a mask makes me feel like Lisbeth from Girl With A Dragon Tattoo (minus the hacking skills and other talents) and I'm here for it! :D It's been raining like crazy where I am, which is good I guess considering how hot it has been lately. Tommy Hilfiger jacket, old dress I sewed, Adidas sneakers

Halloween 2015

Image
How was your Halloween? Here are some pics taken yesterday:) For those of you who are new to my blog, Halloween is a pretty big deal for us:D Our decoration this year Our costumes: As Lisbeth Salander, two knights and Eggs from The Box Trolls I  sewed the boy's tunics and capes, and made the little one's box. My "costume" is just basically my regular clothes. All (except the tank top) were from the Dragon Tattoo Collection from H&M I bought a long time ago...hehe.... This dude was hilarious. He's the talking bush! Did you go trick-or-treating, or had a party? Do tell:)

Inlfuence: Trish Summerville

Image
I'm probably the only person on earth who has not seen the movie "Catching Fire", which does seem like a travesty considering how much I love the books and the movie's costume designer Trish Summerville. She is all kinds of awesome. Her work on the character Lisbeth Salander (Girl With Dragon Tattoo) brought the whole "tough, street-kid" look into another level,  and her personal style is something I really admire. Now, if she would only write a style book.... image from huffingtonpost.com image from panempropaganda.tumblr.com image from theschoolofstyle.com image from zimbio.com image from harpersbazaar.com Who's been your style influence lately?

Tribute

Are you as excited as I am that Catching Fire is coming out on November 22? I must admit that aside from being a huge fan of the Hunger Games book series, I'm really excited for the movie to come out because Trish Summerville  (Girl With Dragon Tattoo) is the costume designer. I'm kinda obsessed with her styling. Here is my own outfit inspired by the up-coming movie. I have to admit this get-up is one of my personal faves. Danier leather jacket, Gap chunky infinity scarf (gifted by sis), Forever 21 shirt, no-name leggings, Ugg Australia boots Inspiration: image from People Magazine image from People Magazine Here is a closer look at the cowl (made by Maria Dora )Katniss wears in the movie. If you guys know where I can get the knitting pattern for something like this, let me know and I'll owe you forever... image from mariadora.tumblr.com May the odds be ever in your favour.

This is another one of those shirts I have that gets worn soooo many times I should have bought them in multiples...sigh....  I love it not only because I love the colour and the stripes, it's also made of the softest material. J.Crew top, H&M/Dragon Tattoo Collection faux leather pants and sneakers I love how these sneakers looked already worn in when I bought them. Happy Saturday, everyone! It's Victoria Day here on Monday, so long weekend for all Canadians...woohoo!:)

Well..it's February after all.

Image
Hubby and I don't really celebrate Valentine's Day, but I thought I'd wear a red and pink outfit because...well, there's nothing wrong with a little red and pink any day, eh? :) F21 jacket, H&M/Dragon Tattoo Collection hooded cardi and sneakers, Juicy Couture pink shirt, What do you guys have planned for VDay? Do tell:)

Run, mommy, run!

Image
It was just a day spent dropping off and picking up the kids, and running around doing errands. We're back to mild temperatures again, and thus, just wore this... Ugg Australia Adirondack boots, H&M/Dragon Tattoo Collection pants, gifted BCBG hoodie and Gap (Red) shirt As much as I loved the craziness of the holiday season, it's nice to back doing the old mommy routine again:)

Torn apart

Image
The day started off warm enough that I was able to go out without a jacket, which was kinda weird considering it was freezing the past couple of days. It did get colder as the day went on, but at least, it was nice to have a fall-like weather (even if just for a short time). H&M/Dragon Tattoo Collection cardi and sneakers, Superdry shirt, Old Navy pants I love this cardi and how it is torn in some places. It's also held together by a safety pin. How can you not love that? Plus, it matches my ancient jeans:P

New in...H&M

Image
It was fate that my husband was off on December 14th. What's so special about that date? Why, the launch of H&M/Trish Summerville Collection, of course! As some of you may know, I've been obsessing over this (see blog here ). So, as soon as we dropped the boys off to school, hubby, daughter and myself drove to Yorkdale Mall . Luckily, there was no line up or anything like that. They were just putting out the collection when we came, and thus, didn't have to elbow our way to see the items:)  I was able to get most of what I wanted, as hubby was generous enough to give them to me as advanced Christmas gift...woo hoo! :) Loved everything that it was really hard to control myself:P When the collection came out, this article from the Toronto Star came out questioning it. Do you agree? I myself love the clothing purely for aesthetic reason, but if you have read the book, you might know what the hullabaloo is all about. Anyhoo, any new hauls lately, g...

All things Dragon Tattoo

Image
Latest hauls are these two I've been wanting for awhile... I really want to read GWDT before watching the much-awaited David Fincher movie, and the latter book because I take so many pictures that I figured it's time to learn the basics. Speaking of Girl With Dragon Tattoo, I've been waiting with anticipation for the H&M/GWDT collection (see blog here) . Well, I contacted H&M Canada, and it's arriving December 14th ! Woohoo! Here are the stores where you can buy the collection: TORONTO Toronto Eaton Centre, Queen Street and Yorkdale Mall VANCOUVER Pacific Centre Mall Online shopping is unfortunately not available in Canada. I truly want the entire collection, which rarely happens to me. These are, however, my favourites: (all images from www.trishsummerville.com ) Trish Summerville has done such a fabulous job with these, that I'm kinda obsessed with her now.
