At the Pickering Museum Village

Image
I had the chance to accompany my daughter in her class trip to the Pickering Museum Village . It was a very educational experience, learning about how life was during the pioneer days. Really makes you appreciate all the modern conveniences we have now. Below are some pics I took that day:) My daughter with her BFF:) This pic makes me LOL so hard....  Making a rope: They got to make candles too!  A visit at the General Store: Our tour guide baking a scone for the kids: Have you been to a pioneer village like this?

New in...bargainista finds

Cheap sunnies from Urban Outfitters These old sewing mags are from the the Antique Road Show section of Pickering Flea Market ...great and cheap finds :) So happy to have found these Simplicity Sewing guides. (They're older than me!) Any bargain finds lately? Do you shop at the flea market?

Sharing the latest garment I've sewed: a kimono/wrap tunic from Victory Patterns  (a local company...woot!). Although not my most straight-forward make, this is surely another unique item in my closet, so it's the latest fave:D Victory Pattern's Trina (tunic version), worn with old leggings and Vans sneakers In progress:  Out and about (Ribfest in downtown TO): Just wanna wish my fellow Canadians a Happy Victoria Day!

It's finally getting warm over here that I can wear this shirt. This top is also great to wear over bathing suits or work-out clothes. old top from Hot Topic, Levis jeans, Vans sneakers I like how the back crosses. (Excuse the wrinkles...I never iron my shirts:P) I'd also like to share another Catholic ceremony we had this week. My eldest son had his Confirmation . Gosh...it's been a busy month in terms of religious celebrations! My mom was his sponsor. What have you all been up to?

What have I been watching

Image
I just thought I'd share some of the stuff I've seen or currently watching that I highly am recommending. They're not new films/series, so you can easily watch them now:) 1) Your Name Your Name is a Japanese anime movie released in 2016, and is the highest grossing anime film world-wide to date. All I can say is that it deserved all the accolades it got. If you haven't seen this film yet, go and see it now! Go! One of the best I've seen. It's time-travel/comedy/romance all rolled into one awesome cinematic experience. image from variety.com 2) Goblin I've been really fan-girling over Gong Yoo since watching him in Train To Busan  last year, so I was really excited for his newest Korean drama Goblin. It showed from December 2016 to January 2017 but I wasn't able to watch it till now. Ehrmahgerd! I just started it, and I'm obsessed already! I am really loving Gong Yoo and Lee Dong Work (as the Grim Reaper), and the scenes are just beautif

I don't own a lot of white clothes. First of all, I am the clumsiest person in the world that it's usually full of coffee drips within 5 minutes of me wearing it. Second, I read somewhere it's not a lucky colour for my sign (along with green). I know some of you might think that's silly, but hey....whatever will help me have better fortune, I always say:) This top, however, I do like. old Kenzie top, Habitual jeans, Vans slip ons, Stussy hat

My youngest just had her First Communion (a Catholic ceremony where the child receives the Eucharist for the first time). Seriously....these little people grow like weeds! (Here are the posts for my eldest son's and my middle child's First Communion if you're interested.) It was like her wedding day, you guys! Did her hair and (very light)makeup, and of course, ran late as is customary in events like this...hehe.... I just thought I'd share a few of the pics taken:)  I knitted her veil. It took a few months as I did it in between sewing projects (I started it on January and finished it on April), but was worth every second. (Pattern is from Elizabeth Lovick's Magical Shetland Lace Shawls to Knit .) Her dress was a gift from my mom. our wonderful parish priest Father Robson  Hope you all had a lovely weekend:)
