New in...Vans x Thrasher

Image
As a mag subscriber, I felt like it was my duty to wear these:D As Alicia Keyes would say,"these shoes are on faayaaaaaaah!" Thanks to hubby for buying these for me. My one and only sponsor:P Vans x Thrasher Slip-On Pro Out and about Do you wear slip ons? Any Thrasher fans out there? PS I know there's some hate about people who don't skateboard wearing Thrasher stuff.  All I can say is ...wear what you love. (Honestly though... I don't see a lot of people  where I am who wears Thrasher stuff so I don't know...)

Inspiration: Kate Foley

I've just been loving  Kate Foley 's style lately. She just has a certain quirkiness in how she dresses that I totally dig. image from http://www.instagram.com/katefoley/ image from zimbio.com image from http://www.instagram.com/katefoley/ image from http://www.instagram.com/katefoley/ image from http://harpersbazaar.com Who's been inspiring you lately?

Summerlicious 2017

Image
Every year, some friends and I do a S ummerlicious  dinner as a way to catch up and get together. (Here's a post on Winterlicious 2012 .) This year, we went to Hot House Restaurant . The food and the service were good. Company was great. What more can a girl ask for? My daughter came with me, because apparently, I am not allowed do anything without her (according to her)! Here's a selfie with my friend M who I met at work ages ago. I met my husband through her! She set us up (she's my husband's godsister), and the rest is history....:D Do you guys like doing food events in your city?

Wearing Moneta

Image
I've sewn this dress awhile back (see here) but have not had the chance to wear this much ,so I thought it deserves another appearance here:D I don't like wearing fitted clothes too much, but this one is really comfortable and easy to style. Will probably make another one soon. sewn using the Colette Moneta pattern, worn with Vans slip ons worn with a Topshop light coat Out and about: PS On this Monday, let us all celebrate the return of Game Of Thrones, shall we? (Were you as surprised as I was on you-know-who's cameo? I thought I recognized that singing....) "Tell them winter came for House Frey."

It's all about the sleeves.

Image
There's a current trend for tops with what I call "enhanced" sleeves... may it be bell, tulip and such. I thought it was about time I sewed one. Pattern is McCalls7542  (worn with Gap shorts and Adidas sneakers) In progress: This McCalls pattern comes with varying sleeve shapes. Check it out! So many options! Are you guys a fan of this type of top?

This summer is such a tease!

We've had a few good days of sunny and hot weather, then now, it's back to rain. Aish! But hey, the sleeveless tops remain. (These pics were taken very early in the morning before it became overcast.) H&M top from my mom, jeans from Urban Outfitters, Adidas sneakers Hope you're all having an awesome weather wherever you may be:) Happy Monday!

The hot weather is finally upon us, but alas, some of our beaches are still closed due to all the rain we got the past few weeks. However, that does not mean one cannot have fun, eh? (This was our local beach's parking lot.) H&M tank and shorts with Vans slip ons

I am Canadian.

As I mentioned on my last post, this past Saturday was Canada's 150th birthday. It was a HUGE deal for us Canucks, and all over the country, numerous activities/events were held for everyone to enjoy. It was such a great day to be surrounded be our fellow Canadians and be thankful for living in this wonderful country of ours. My kids and I decided to spend the day in downtown Toronto. First stop was the Royal Ontario Museum , which had free admission for the day. Line up was long to get in but it was worth it:)  Ashley MacIsaac had a concert in the museum. Super cool!   Canadians  by Bryan Adams was also on display (portraits of famous Canadians by the musician/photographer)    Shopping at Eaton Centre: We also went to Nathan Phillips Square. We stayed here for a bit to enjoy the free concert. Road closures everywhere for the pedestrians to freely walk around.... The following day, my
