When I'm feeling blue, all I have to do...

Image
...is wear more blue. Guys, I can't believe it's the last day of August! What the heck!?!?! How come summer seems to come to an end faster and faster? I don't even go to school but I sort of go through a funk when September rolls around (which I'm sure I've mentioned before). Just don't really like summer ending. Sigh. Gap tank top, shorts from Urban Outfitters, Birkenstock sandals

Aaaaaaaand...the countdown begins before school starts. How else to "celebrate" than by going to the CNE !!!! It has been raining on and off the whole week, so I'm so glad that it was just the right weather the day we went. Pics below as always:) My fave part of the Ex: the food! Fried Mars bars covered in red velvet cake batter....bwahaha Second favourite part: shopping at the Arts and Crafts Pavilion:D Can you see the little one screaming? Hahahaha The "Legends of the Silk Road Come To Light" lantern festival was pretty awesome.

I've made three versions of this dress, and you've probably seen me in this A LOT if you've been reading my blog for awhile. I must say that this has got to be my fave pattern to make. Just something so comfy about this style:) Dress I sewed using the Bantam vest pattern from the Merchant and Mills workbook, worn with Vans slip ons Just an update.... I mentioned in the last post that I would be attending a Digital Photography class hosted by our local library. It happened this past weekend and it was great, you guys! The first half of the class dealt with all the technical aspects of the camera(ISO, aperture, etc). The second half dealt with the artistic side of photography, and then editing with Lightroom. We were able to go outside and take photos of the surrounding area, which was pretty cool. Here are just a few pics I took:) One of our teachers Greg Our other teacher Tony  We used a Nikon D3400 for the class. I'm a Canon girl, but I found

I mentioned before on this post  that I got my first ever 35mm film camera, the Pentax K1000. I thought that I'd share the photos I took with my first roll of film. The roll of film I used is the Fujicolor Superia Xtra 400, which is just a cheap film roll you can get anywhere. Because I had the 36 exposures, I decided to do a short YouTube video showing all the shots I took, from beginning to end... all the good and the bad. All these photos are unedited and scanned from the negative. Guys, I am so pleased with this camera and just love the whole experience of shooting with film. Although I will still shoot primarily with my Canon mirrorless because of how easy the process is with digital, I think film photography is just a great way to slow down the experience of taking pics. It really makes you more aware of what to shoot (since you're limited to the number of film exposures). I'll post some of the film photos here once in awhile. (Unfortunately, I don't

Dog days of summer

"Summer was our best season: it was sleeping on the back screened porch in cots, or trying to sleep in the treehouse; summer was everything good to eat; it was a thousand colors in a parched landscape...." To Kill A Mockingbird, Harper Lee Summer always goes by too fast. Disclaimer: Guys, I know that in these pics I post of our family outings, it seems like we're always having fun ALL THE TIME.  Obviously, this is not true as I have posted here.  Most of the time, our outings are spent with about 60% fun and 40% bickering....and that's ok with me. We are who we are, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
