Currently loving

Image
I just want to share some stuff I've been loving lately:) so yummy! I use this for everything- from wiping my makeup off, to wiping the kids' hands when out and about. This, along with the Garnier BB cream , has been my daily face cream. Oh...em...gee! I don't know what's in this thing that makes it so amazing. The most used cookbooks in the house (Joy of Cooking, All About Braising, The Cake Bible, Barefoot Contessa Back to Basics, Falling Off The Bone,  How To Cook Everything, Food Network Kitchens Cookbook) What are the things you guys have been loving lately? Do tell:)

Back with a vengeance!

As people in the northeast America can attest to, winter has come back. Don't tell anyone, but I actually don't mind coz I kinda like layering. Danier jacket, H&M top and pants, Walmart circular scarf, Doc Martens boots I tried to do the typical blogger look of not-smiling in the pic, but as you can see, I just look angry. This Walmart scarf is da bomb! Happy Hump Day, y'all! :)

Come again another day.

You know why I know Mother Nature has a sense of humour? Because last week, we had beautiful weather from Monday through Friday, and then it got cold  and rainy Saturday, just when it would have been nice to be outside with the family. Well, at least, we had a warmish Sunday... Bench jacket, top from Aritzia, Rebecca Beeson leggings, wellies from Canadian Tire Anyhoo, I thought it was still nice to wear a neon top, coz it is spring after all:) Happy Monday, everyone! Here's to an awesome week ahead!

Influence: Gwen Stefani

Image
Gwen Stefani is the epitome of cool. If there's someone whose wardrobe I would like to have, it would be hers. Not only does she (and her band) create some freaking awesome music, her fashion aesthetic is amazing, which is why her LAMB line is still around while many celebrity lines have folded. image from elle.com image from elle.com (following images from people.com) My hubby saw her perform in a club in Toronto before No Doubt became big, and he said that even then, he knew the band would be big because of her star quality. Gwen, I want to be you someday!

These jeans are a new acquisition from Target, and I'm kinda obsessed with them. They're a great substitute for the Current Elliott  The Stiletto jeans that's so popular. F21 top, pants from Target, Dv by Dolce Vita booties

Nice break

Image
This March Break went by in such a blur, and I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing:P Anyhoo, we decided to take the kids to an overnight stay in Great Wolf Lodge  (indoor water park) in Niagara Falls. I highly recommend this place, y'all. This was the second time we've visited, and the kids always have fun. Truly a great place where the young ones (and the young-at-heart) can have a blast! Just thought I'd share some pics... Hope everyone's having a great weekend! If you guys did anything for Spring Break, do tell:)

BB Creams

Image
I've always wanted to try Beauty Balm creams since hearing about them from other blogs. As someone with not-so-great skin, I'm always on the lookout for something that would help my complexion look better. This is the one I really want to try: image from beautymark.ca However, at $50 Cdn, I am really hesitant. Then, I saw this great post from Elle Sees  about the Garnier BB Cream, and I thought, yay. The price point was just right. When I found the product on our local Shoppers Drug Mart, I was really excited. Plus, it was on sale! Of course, I had to get it. Garnie BB Cream in Med/Dark shade The first time I used it, I used the Beauty Blender sponge and stippled it on, but I really wanted a heavier coverage (because I wanted to use it as a foundation), so I ended up using my fingers in the end. This is the best way, IMO, to apply it. It applies like a tinted moisturizer so it's perfect for the summer when you want that light coverage. It's also perfect as

Recipe: Pork Ribs

Image
Ideally, cooking pork ribs would require a bit of planning. Marinade overnight, then do your homemade barbecue sauce for basting the next day. This, however, does not usually pan out in our household, where almost everything is done on the day of eating. Thus, this is the easy no-plan recipe for pork ribs that still produces great results:) What you need/Ingredients: roasting pan with a rack 3 lbs pork back ribs 2 tbsp all-purpose seasoning (If you don't have this, salt and pepper is, of course, fine. Use about 1 tbsp salt and 1 tsp pepper.) 1 bottle of dark beer 1) Preheat oven to 375 ºF . 2) Place the rack on the pan, then put the ribs on it (laid out in one layer). Rub the seasoning on both sides of the ribs. Pour the beer on the pan. 3) Cover the pan with foil, and place in the middle rack of the oven. Bake for 1&1/2 hours (90 minutes). (You are steaming the ribs at this point.) What the ribs look like after the steaming 4) Remove the ribs from the oven. Dial

Turn that yellow light into green light...

Image
These photos were taken on such a beautiful springy day I had to wear green. I kinda wish the weather was like this every day of the year...sigh...  Lacoste shirt, no-name skirt, Doc Martens boots riding my invisible bike! Can I just tell you?...I love the length of this skirt coz it's so awkward-looking on my frame. I've had this skirt for ages, and really don't get tired of wearing it:) Happy Monday, y'all. Here's to an awesome week ahead...I hope:)
