Scorcher

Half of the planet is going through extreme hot weather right now. Here in Toronto, we are averaging about 40℃/104℉ humidex...quite normal down south but for us in Canada, that's hot, you guys! I'm not complaining though as I have said before, our winters are sooooo long.   It is scary though what is happening to our planet right now, you know? Anyone who says we don't have a climate change caused by environmental damage is a fool. Anyhoo, right now, all I can really manage to wear aside from shorts and shirts are these dresses I sewed. old dress I sewed using the Merchant and Mills Bantam pattern (I made three of these:D), J Crew ballet flats I hope you are all doing well and managing to stay cool (or warm depending on where you are):)

Nostalgic still

Image
Even though this shirt is long-sleeved, it's still a great wear during the hot summer months because of the thin cotton material. BTW, I bought this when we were in Universal Studios Orlando and to this day, I still think that Florida trip was our best vacay ever and now every summer I always reminisce about it and now I'm sad and oh well let me go off in a corner now.... Gryffindor shirt, H&M shorts, Vans slip ons What was the trip you've taken that you still think of fondly after awhile?

So easy

My kids say it's ok to lose me in the crowd coz they can spot my hair colour easily. I must admit that I'm totally digging this new colour ...Vampire Red from Manic Panic. I mean...just the name, amirite? Lookie...new background! I thought you guys deserve a break than my usual backyard shots...bwahaha.... old dress I sewed using a Lotte Jansdotter pattern, Alexandrina's sandals  Out and about with my old LV Speedy 35 bag

Inspiration: Hayao Miyazaki 宮崎 駿

Image
"The world isn't simple enough to explain in words." - Miyazaki image from imdb.com Hayao Miyazaki is one of Japan's most beloved directors and is considered to be one of the best animators in the world. The artwork in his films are just so beautiful. Miyazaki-san has been a recipient of prestigious awards such as the Academy Award in 2002 for Best Animated Feature Film and the Venice International Film Fest's Golden Lion Award for Lifetime Achievement. From Wikipedia: Miyazaki's works are characterized by the recurrence of themes such as humanity's relationship with  nature  and technology, the wholesomeness of natural and traditional patterns of living, the importance of art and craftsmanship, and the difficulty of maintaining a  pacifist  ethic in a violent world. As co-founder of Studio Ghibli, he has given us so many wonderful films (he has written and directed  most of them) that will be treasured for generations to come. movie ima

What have I been watching #12

Image
These are the films and shows I've been loving lately:) 1) Stranger Things 3 Gosh! I feel like I've been waiting for this season to come out, and man, it did not disappoint! I've always been a fan of this series, and season 3 lives up to the hype, you guys. I binge-watched this and let me tell you, I'm thankful that I'm a bit of an insomniac...bwahaha! Erica is my fave character in this series, y'all! If you've seen the series, don't you agree? :D 2) Good Omens How can you go wrong with Michael Sheen and David Tennant? Seriously...these two are just so amazing as actors, and they have such great chemistry:) Another show I binge-watched. PS Miranda Richardson was also pretty kick-ass in this show:) 3) Us I'm super late in watching this film, but I finally did. All I can say is that Lupita Nyong'o is THE BEST ACTRESS OF HER GENERATION. TBH, I still love Get Out more, but Us is still a great watch. I mean, just to see Lupita...I

The livin' is easy.
