As much as I like little delicate bags, I'm the type of person who's really rough with her bags and tend to carry a lot. Thus, this next obsession has one criteria. If I am a character in a Michael Bay movie (or at the very least, a Steven Spielberg adventure film), would this survive? I know colour is huge huge huge this fall/winter season, but as a mom, I really love black because it hides a multitude of sins and stains. I have been looking for a floral dress for the longest time to wear in the spring/summer season, and of course, when did I find it? Why, close to the end of summer, of course! Anyhoo, I have fallen in love with this dress because it reminds me of the Kate Moss for Topshop Pansy dress that came out aeons ago. I had a rare break today, whereby I had the whole day to myself. What did I do? Did I have a much-needed sleep? Did I do the much-needed cleaning around the house? Why, of course not! Being a self-proclaimed fashion blogger (ahem...), I decided to finally check out the capsule collection of Topshop at the Bay (at Queen St, Toronto). It is only at this store until the end of the month, before the permanent collection goes to the Bay at Yorkdale in October. It was very small compared to what they have on the website, which is understandable as it is only a capsule collection. Hopefully, the one coming in October will be a bigger one. I only got two items, because with the conversion, the clothes are not as cheap as those in Zara or H&M...oh well. My credit card was happy:P Because I had to commute, I wore a very simple ...

Follow these rules, and you will succeed... 1) Be 21 years old and 80 lbs. 2) Only shop for clothes from these stores:      American Apparel, H&M, Zara, Forever 21, vintage stores that are really hard to get to      ...ooops...Topshop (of course) 3) Have Jeffrey Campbell shoes, especially the Litas. 4) Wear clothes, bags and shoes from these designers once in awhile:      Alexander Wang, Balenciaga, Lanvin, Proenza Schouler, Celine, sometimes Marc Jacobs 5) Have uber cool blogger friends, sisters, or other half. 6) Have a nice DSLR...not some Nikon point-and-click. 7) Don't ever smile showing your teeth in pictures...ever.... It must never look like you're actually posing. It always has to look like you were caught on your way to a rendezvous with your uber cool friends, or on your way to that vintage store that only you know of. Never look happy. I have always had a thing for satchels. Being a huge fan of Indiana Jones, I have always associated the bag with travel and adventure. Of course, the obsession was sealed when I saw Alexa Chung with her famous Mulberry bag. What can I say? I'm a sucker for celebrity endorsements. I was on a quest for the perfect satchel that was just the right size and the right price point, and I think I have found it. I discovered Upla reading Parisian Chic (which I wrote about on this blog). Being the nerd that I am, I went to the company website right away and fell in love with the fisherman's pouch (besace). The style was exactly what I was looking for, and they had different choices of material (cotton canvas, leather, etc.) and sizes.
