Happy Friday, everyone! I thought I'd do something different and post a video of me doing a quick flip through of two art books I've been loving lately. It's short...only about 4 minutes:D
Remember when adult coloring books was a thing a year ago? I know these are art books, but I'd love to color every single thing in that fashion illustrations book.
Both books look amazing and super inspirational! Thanks for sharing chingu! Yes I always liken savory oats to a healthier version of congee and the possibilities are endless ;D
Loving your video! I finally got to hear your voice!!! Of course I love both book, The Jan Davenport one was my favorite. The eyes speak to my soul, I’ve always liked eyes. I was obsessed with them when I attended art school.
Man I wish I could draw like that too Emmy. I adore fashion sketches, mainly for those beautiful silhouettes they draw up like they're simply writing the alphabet
Emmy, I loved hearing your voice! Two great books. I've always been into fashion illustrations. I think they're so pretty. The shading, colors and overall aesthetic. I'm really loving the Jane Davenport Faces book. They seem so real. Like you can pierce their eyes and tell how they're feeling. Love the coloring of their skin & hair. Such realness. http://www.averysweetblog.com/
If you've been reading my blog for the past few months, then you know my love for Alabama Chanin. Here's the newest addition to my wardrobe. :) Alabama Chanin Flora Waffle Sweatshirt, worn with North Face jacket, UNIQLO pants, and Vans sneakers The organic waffle knit fabric is naturally dyed using Sappanwood sawdust, and the foliage design is hand-painted! What I love about Alabama Chanin is that many of their pieces are one-of-a-kind. PS It was my eldest's birthday when these pics were taken:) How was your weekend? Any new purchases lately?
I've been having a hard time getting motivated to post anything at all these days. I've deleted X on my phone, and am on Bluesky now, but even then, I don't really post much there. (I've stopped posting on Instagram and Facebook years ago, and don't have a TikTok/) Even having a hard time posting consistently on my Art YouTube channel. I do have a small Catholic YouTube channel, and another small "fish" channel (and I use that term lightly coz I mostly post random stuff about our shubunkin goldfishes), but even then, these days, I just want to go "off the grid" :( That is all.
I don't think you can go wrong with anything that has The Beatles on it....right? no-name shirt bought from the CNE, Hot Topic pants, Topshop chelsea boots I swear...she's gonna start her own blog soon. What a ham! Do you like The Beatles?
