Baby steps

With my knitting and sewing obsession, the goal is to have a capsule wardrobe that is completely hand-made. Right now, I'm about at 10%...a long way to go, I know, but the fun is in the journey, right? :)

coat and dress I sewed awhile back  (using patterns from Lotta Jansdotter's book :Pilvi coat and Kiomi dress)

wearing my new Adidas:D
I also just recently made this shirt for the hubby. Pattern is the Colette Negroni (which I highly recommend).
Fabric used: cotton shirting
This is by no means perfect, but is probably one of the things I've sewn I'm quite proud of just because shirts are not the easiest things to sew, y'all.

Are you a fan of handmade crafts/garments?

That dress reminds me of the Tardis! Love how his shirt came out!!
Wow, that shirt looks amazing! It takes me a couple of hours and lots of swearing to make just a pillow cover!
Great look! Happy new week!:)

Never had any to be honest
Great job on your outfit and on your hubby's shirt! Learning to sew is on my list and I will get to it one of these days. I was getting ready to sign up for a class at a school in my neighborhood but after it was closed due to flooding by Hurricane Sandy, It never reopened.

Haha we seem to be the opposite when it comes to our Korean leading men. I fall for very few but I tend to stay loyal. There are some really good Korean movies out there. Let me know if you ever want some suggestions. I doubt I'll be watching the K2. I really don't enjoy revenge plots. if I did, I'd still be watching TVB dramas. And I can't overlook that Yoona is in it. Not a fan of idols in dramas to begin with and she is so overrated. To have to watch my CW with her will probably make me throw up in my mouth O_o
Emmy, I love your dress and your hubbies shirt! You are going to have a fabulous capsule wardrobe! I'm so proud of you! That shirt looks awesome! Girl, with me one sleeve would be way too long. The button and holes wouldn't match up and don't even talk about the collar. You did EXCELLENT! It looks really good.

You did a great job with your husband's shirt! I would have thought it's store bought if you didn't say you sew it yourself, that is very impressive!

I'd love to have the talent to sew my own clothes, or even just hem some things as it would solve a lot of problems being petite, haha! Sadly I don't have that ability so I just admire people like yourself who do. Your dress and hubby's shirt both look wonderful, you're very talented :) I admire your goal too!

Hope you're having a wonderful week :)

I love your dress! I also want a capsule wardrobe, but I'll have to buy it.. :( I decided to rather invest in good clothes than buy lots and cheap materials. I'm broke anyway now after the holidays. Plus, I booked 2 weeks in Romania in November to visit my parents. 5th trip this year. Bank account not happy. I am though. I think travels are good investments.
