Currently loving #33

Things I've been loving lately:)

1) The documentary Minimalism
My obsession over Marie Kondo's method of de-cluttering has led down the rabbit hole of the "less is more" movement, which eventually led me to this film (available on Netflix).

I highly recommend this documentary even to those who don't practice minimalism. It really makes you think about the whole capitalistic notion of buying all the time and more importantly, "compulsive buying". Do things really bring us joy?

2) GOOP Clean Beauty
Even though this has Gwyneth in the cover, she actually only wrote the foreword. What the book is is a great guide to clean beauty, written by the editors of GOOP, many of whom are experts in the field (ie.Dr. Laura Lefkowitz, Karen Behnke). It not only deals with skin care and makeup products, but also how we take care of our bodies (what we eat, how much we sleep, etc.)

It has recipes for a detox diet, different stretches, discussion of toxic ingredients in beauty products, makeup and hair tips....just a fountain of information.  Can't recommend this enough!

3) That Winter, The Wind Blows
I tend to watch light Korean romantic comedies, but Rowena recommended I see this. Ehr....mah....gerd! Such a great series, you guys! Thank you as always, sunbae:)

In terms of cinematography and acting, this ranks right up there for me with Misaeng! I cried like a baby in several scenes, and was on pins and needles at the end of every episode. So many memorable lines to boot. I seriously wish they made this into a 20-episode drama instead of 16.

Jo In Sung and Song Hye Kyo are seriously just beautiful people.

This is another game changer for me when it comes to skin care. I haven't used a clay mask before, and Rowena mentioned this is a good product to try when I did my acne post. Luckily, this is pretty easy to find where I am so got it right away. I saw a big difference in my skin right after the first use, and I now use it about twice a week.
(Thanks again, Rowena!:))

What have you been loving lately?

I'm on a quest to lead a more minimalistic life too and I need to do some Marie Kondo-ing to my things! I'd like to watch that documentary too x

I watched bits and pieces of Minimalism. I liked that they promote mindful consumption and being content within yourself rather than just filling your life with more things but honestly I didn't care for their self promotion. Like WTH was that with the dude reading his own book in the salt flats. Pretentious much. Anyhow I do think their overall message is good. I'm so glad that you enjoyed TWTWB as much as I did. I cried buckets while watching it but I'd do it over again and that snow scene! I must've watched it over 20 times just for the aesthetics! Yes most of the K-actors/actress are really humble. Did you hear about Lee Jong Suk? He actually got an award for W which was a joke because it was some popularity award. He just uttered a few words and then abruptly exited the stage. His fans tried to make excuse for him saying that he has attention phobia which is a laugh considering his chosen profession. Hearing stuff like this makes me feel justified in my dislike of him ;p I hope you do better with It's Okay That's Love than I did. I really wanted to like it because it has a good cast and production team but the story meandered all over the place and was so hard to follow that I had to drop it after a few eps. Also I found GHJ's character in it to be insufferable. Let me know if you make through :D We're still catching up on 1N2D episodes so I'm not watching K-dramas right now. I heard there might be a 2nd season of Signal. Very excited about that! And yay that the Innisfree mask made a difference for you! Sharing is caring and it's gratifying when your suggestions work out for people.

Clay is awesome for the skin when you want to clear things up! I tried a REN formula and it has really helped. Definitely want to try Innisfree. I'm on that minimalist bandwagon Emmy! So thanks for suggesting the above documentary and Gwyneth Paltrow's book! Interested in both and saving this post. Gotta keep up with you & Rowena. LOL

Woah, I love these images! And that minimalism documentary sounds good, I wouldn't mind checking it out. This is going to sound completely off topic but in regards to Netflix have you seen the film The Little Prince? Literally the best, you have to check it out.

Well I'm adding that to my list to watch. Weirdly enough I've been really enjoying "historical" yesteryear type K-Dramas. I watched Scarlet Heart and really enjoyed it. It's about a girl who goes back in time to the Josean era and tries to rewrite history, and in true Rom Com fashion of course there's a love triangle! It was actually really good and I ended up looking for more dramas set in that fashion. I watched Chuno which wasn't bad either but I didn't like the ending. I'm finishing up watching The Man Living in our House. It's pretty good though I think I'm itching more for another period drama hehehe. I also didn't like the lead female in this. But it's worth a watch too!

Still need to check if the documentary is available on Dutch Netflix, I follow those guys on social media, and I can imagine it must be good!
