Currently Loving #42
Stuff I'm loving recently:D
1) Heat wave!!!
YASSSS! Temperature's been hovering around 35℃ (around 95℉) with humidity hovering around 41℃ (105℉) and it's great. It's nice to just walk around, enjoy the heat and it also reminds me of when we were in Florida last year:)
Took these shots when the kids were blowing bubbles while walking around our neighbourhood.
2) Say Yes To Carrots moisturizer
Love this new addition to my skin care line. It has zinc oxide as a sunscreen protection, it sinks nicely into my face and doesn't break me out:)
(I still use a separate sunscreen though if I know I'll be out in the sun for a long time.)
3) Jay Maisel's book Light, Gesture and Color
I've really been getting more into photography lately. As someone with a bit of a background in painting, there is certainly more of an immediacy when it comes to taking photos.
I asked my blogger friend Rowena (who knows her stuff when it comes to the topic and takes great photos) for some book recommendations. This was one of the books she recommended, and I'm so glad she did. Thank you, my friend!
Jay Maisel not only takes amazing shots, but he has such an engaging and easy-to-understand way in explaining things. Two thumbs up:)
"That's the ultimate gesture, the revelation, and counterpoint when you get two people relating to each other.
When they get good with two, I tell them to try three. It always gets tougher. Don't stop at easy."
4) Julia Trotti's YouTube channel
Speaking of photography, one of the YouTubers I love watching when it comes to this topic is Julia Trotti. Love her style and very laid back way when it comes to shoots, and I also love her editing style. I have some of her Lightroom presets and they're great for one-click edits.
5) The B Side- Elsa Dorfman's Portrait Photography
I actually didn't know who Elsa Dorfman is until I saw this film on Netflix. She's such a wonderful character...someone I would love to hang out with and definitely now an inspiration. (Allen Ginsberg was one of her good friends...totally understand why they got along so well.) I highly recommend this film even if you have no interest in photography.:)

I love your photos and the filters etc you've used on them. I found the videos fascinating. I haven't heard of Jay Maisel, but that book looks interesting. I actually studied photography at uni, so I probably should of heard of him!
