Stuff I've been loving lately:)
1) The Shadowland by Elizabeth Kostova
Just recently read this book and loved it. Kinda slow at first, but really picks up half way through and just a great read to the end.
Synopsis from Goodreads:
A young American woman, Alexandra Boyd, has traveled to Sofia, Bulgaria, hoping that life abroad will salve the wounds left by the loss of her beloved brother. Soon after arriving in this elegant East European city, however, she helps an elderly couple into a taxi and realizes too late that she has accidentally kept one of their bags. Inside she finds an ornately carved wooden box engraved with a name: Stoyan Lazarov. Raising the hinged lid, she discovers that she is holding an urn filled with human ashes. As Alexandra sets out to locate the family and return this precious item, she will first have to uncover the secrets of a talented musician who was shattered by oppression and she will find out all too quickly that this knowledge is fraught with its own danger.
I've been using this sunscreen as my day moisturizer lately, and I'm pretty happy with it.
4) My old Vans slip ons
Been wearing this a lot, esp. when going for short walks.
6) DocMartens backpack
5) Doc Martens shoes
When out for long walks, I wear these. Super comfy even after hours of walking in them:)
speaking of Doc Martens...
This is an old bag my husband gave me years ago, and I've been using it a lot lately. Even when I pack this bag to the max, it's still very comfortable to use:)
7) Our latest day trip
We haven't really been anywhere since the pandemic began, and this was technically our first "trip" away from home. Niagara Falls is always a win, and yay that it's fairly close to us (about an hour and half hour drive).
What have you been loving lately?

Sounds like a good book. Will check it out.
We have been considering a Niagara trip as well.. not for now.. maybe in the summer. The kids were so little when we first went they don't really remember the trip.
Suncreen is always a good investment.
So great that you went to the FAllS! I went a long time ago, but on the states side. It was a beautiful trip. I loved being in the mist of it even if it were for only a bit. I hope you are having a lovely October with your family.
Thanks for the intriguing book review! I have about 8 more episodes to go with the Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils. Those Semi-devils are cruel with their poisons and pranks and making monks eat meat...=). I guess what I find the most intriguing is the tribal dress and in this Wuxia Fantasy it has a universal aspect one might notice. Although, the fight scenes aren't near as real as in the Sabre Sword. Although, a Chinese author wrote both and these fantasies have been translated and rebooted several times over the year. Or so I have found on MY DRAMA LIST.
Happy Autumn!
Hope your week is off to a good start :) Thanks for your kind words on our loss too. It was so unexpected so it's hit hard.
Away From The Blue
