The Icelandic

 I posted in May of this year how I was obsessing over sweaters, especially Scandinavian sweaters because of my love for Nordic Noir. Well....I finally finished one, just in time for fall! YAY! :D


The pattern is from Icelandic designer Védis Jónsdottir (the Afmæli sweater), and I used the Icelandic yarn Ístex Léttlopi. It is seriously so cozy and warm and I just love wearing it that I can't stop!





I will be knitting more of this sweater... in different colours for sure!

Speaking of making, I also finished sewing this Ruffle Swing Skirt for my sis-in-law:)

Alabama Chanin Ruffle Swing Skirt I hand-sewed!


She bought the kit from Alabama Chanin, and this is another garment I completely hand-sewed. This was actually a lot of work...more than knitting that sweater, I tellz yah, but in the end, I really did like the finished skirt and my SIL liked it too!

I pleated about 720 inches of strips to make those three rows of pleated ruffle, aside from all the basting you do, and then tacking it down with a strip in the middle where I used the single feather stitch. (I also hand-sewed all the skirt seams and waist band).

Such a beautiful sweater❤🍂💖 Lovely skirt too. You are so busy. So great to see your projects. I finally started Queen of Mystery which I had wanted to watch years ago with Choi Kang Hee who is definitely in her element and of course having to deal with her snooty mother-in-law is icing on the cake. It's on VIKI Plus.

It's getting colder here. I really need to start a sweater hunt here.

I love that knit and the skirt is so beautiful! It's interesting seeing how you did the pleating - I can see why the skirt took you a while to complete, but it definitely looks worth it, such a cute detail! :)

Emmy, you did an amazing job with both projects. I remember you talking about that style of sweater. I'm a fan favorite of that design as well. I love the pattern and the colors are so beautiful. Looks great on you. You would pay an arm & leg to buy it in a store. God has truly blessed you with a wonderful gift. I'm still cleaning out my makeup room. HaHa I'll post about it. Just getting my laptop back, so catching up on your posts.

I especially love that sweater. I knit so slowly that it's hard for me to phantom how you finished it that quickly. Did you knit it top down or bottom up? Those pleats are amazing.

The latest item I finished knitting: the Waiting For Rain shawl:) Love how this turned out, you guys:) The yarn was really lovely to work with (Kaleidoscope) and the pattern was easy to follow. I know a lot of people don't like wearing leggings as pants. I'm not one of those people. (I do have a rule that the top has to be long enough to cover your butt.
