Inspiration: Emerald Fennell

Emerald Fennell is an English actress known for her work as Camilla Parker Bowles in the show The Crown. I, however, have not seen this show, and just recently became familiar with her because she wrote and directed Saltburn.

Saltburn has become an obsession since I saw it on Amazon Prime, so of course, what's a girl to do but go down the rabbit hole and lo and behold, I am now also obsessed with director Emerald!

(She also wrote and directed Promising Young Women, another freaking amazing movie.)

She is just so eloquent and charming in all her interviews. See example below:

And because of her and Saltburn, I'm now reading one of the books that inspired it. Loving it so far!

Speaking of books, here is a video I did for our book club YouTube channel, where I talk about my all-time favourite books:) If you need some book recs or just love to read, have a watch! :D

Who has been inspiring you lately? Have you seen Saltburn?

Oh so cool! I just watched Saltburn. Wow, I had no idea what inspired this film. I really did like the script. And Barry is the IT GUY! Funny, as I was watching it, I kept wondering who would play these parts in a Korean drama (✿◡‿◡) So glad to read your post!

Well, we might be in a thaw. I did watch Astroid City on Prime too this weekend..and was so let down. I usually like Wes' work, but it was a bit confusing and it just left out the feels in so many places.

I looked up a young actual Camilla the other day and she's not pretty. Hard to believe anyone would choose her over Diana

Sounds really good. I want to see it :)
We've really only been watching Taiwanese and Korean shows so I'm not really up on or care about Western entertainment these days. The only thing I know Emerald Fennel from is The Crown. Had no idea she wrote and directed Promising Young Woman which I hated. I mean I get what she was trying to convey but the ending was so messed up and I May Destroy You did the same thing much better.
I haven't seen Saltburn yet, but everyone seems to be talking about it lately! I will have to add it to my (always growing) to-watch list. I'm so glad you were inspired and have been learning more about the director!
