The one good thing about not getting enough sleep is that you get more things done...well...some days.... Here are two of my latest "creations":) They're actually second versions of items I have made before! 1) Boxy sweater (pattern by Joji Locatelli) This is the lighter weight version of this sweater . I actually started this sweater back in June and just finished it. Because it's a finer yarn and called for smaller needles, it was one of my longer-term projects. Boxy sweater, jeans from Target, Vans slip ons Oh my gosh! My photobomber is a ninja! Didn't even know she was there! 2) Elisalex dress  (pattern by By Hand London) This is the sleeveless version of this dress . I made it for an upcoming wedding we're attending. Guys, this is upholstery fabric from Ikea! Teehee... Man...the Toronto weather has been really wonky this year. We're getting a heat wave now, instead of during June-August when we would've appreciated it more:P  top I sewed awhile back using the Ebony pattern from Closet Case Patterns, Gap shorts, Birkenstocks

I've talked about how much I love these leggings here . I'm not kidding when I say that they're really what I've been wearing most days lately. As soon as they are washed...I kid you not. I think the people I see all the time probably think I only have 5 items in my closet!:D H&M shirt, Uniqlo legging pants, Adidas sneakers Gosh! She'll be my height soon...eeeeeek! This really just goes to show that I don't really need a lot of clothes. Do you guys wear some items of clothing a lot? As in...as soon as they are washed?

Summer has decided to arrive late around here, and I'm not complaining. As much as I like wearing layers and sweaters, I wouldn't mind wearing my summer dresses a little bit longer:) dress I sewed awhile back (Bantam pattern from Merchant and Mills) worn with Vans slip ons Out and about (taken at Midland, Ontario which is about an hour-and-a- half drive from Toronto)

A mixed bag of stuff I've been loving lately:) 1) Harvest Label  backpack I bought this from the Mitsukoshi shop at Epcot Disney, and have been using it daily since then. Very well-balanced and great construction. 2) Victoria's Secret Love Spell Such a fresch scent. A new fave:) 3) Getting Genki in Japan  by Karen Pond Literally made me LOL. It's a collection of short essays written about the author and her family's experiences when they first moved to Japan. A quick fun read! 4) Stranger (A Secret Forest) I just started watching this, but man...I am hooked! A very well-written series.  Bae Doo Na is also great in it.  image from drama fever.com 5) Death Note I saw the Netflix version first, which I thought was ok (Willem Defoe as Ryuk was freaking awesome), so I decided to watch the Japanese live action series that came out awhile back. A very cool show, and honestly much better than the Netflix version.  I like the actors that ...

Let's talk about this Uniqlo legging pants . Guys, when I first saw this in the store, I tried them on right away and really loved the fit/style, so I decided to get one. My husband was, like, "No. Buy more coz knowing you, you'll regret it later on." I said, "No! I only need one. ONE!" Husband: "I will not come back here tomorrow just to get some more. Just get more pairs now". Grumble. Grumble. I gave in and got it in different colours (and he also paid....hahaha). So, what do you know... these are the only pants I've been wearing since I got them. If you notice... in the Florida  and Fan Expo pics, I was just basically these legging pants (aside from some denim shorts). Yup. Max Studio top, Uniqlo legging pants, Vans slip ons And can we also admire the little embroidery on this top? So cute, right? Do you have multiples of a wardrobe item?

Gosh...August just went by like a blur with all the activities. I can't believe it's September already! As always, Labour Day weekend was spent by our family doing the Fan Expo (minus the daughter who's still too young IMO for some of the stuff you can see there). Here are the pics from this year's event:) Let's see if you know all the characters that the cosplayers did...I certainly don't! Lookie! My imaginary second husband:D Husband's a big fan of the show! Well, it's one of my fave anime, so....:D hahaha Loved meeting Christian Potenza, who voices many of the characters in  our fave Canadian cartoons Total Drama Island and 6Teen. I got a poster signed for my daughter.... Aside from the usual freebies and Fan Expo swag, here is my haul:)  Happy 1st Day of school (to many peeps here in North America anyhoo) :)
